a recent "passport-style" photo -- required by certain mobile phone imperatives (i.e., Airtel suddenly needed yours truly -- and evidently hundreds of others -- to provide fresh documentation proving legal identity and place of residence). In India, one can barely live without a mobile phone. Perhaps this is true everywhere now. So I went through the requisite rigamarole, with this photographic consequence.
